    National Assembly Speaker Receives Syrian and Spanish Ambassadors to Serbia

    The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, received today in two separate visits, the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Serbia, Majed Shadoud and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Span to Serbia, Inigo de Palacio Espana.

    Second Sitting of the Gender Equality Committee

    At the second sitting, held on 28 November, and chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Elena Bozic-Talijan, the members of the Gender Equality Committee unanimously elected deputy Bojana Stanojevic from the Deputy Group For European Serbia, as Committee Deputy Chairperson.

    Italian Students Visit National Assembly

    A student delegation of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, headed by professor Fulco Lanchester, in the organisation of “IPALMO” Italian institute, visited the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, on 27 November 2008. At the National Assembly House, the Italian students were greeted by the National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Gordana Comic, and after the tour of the National Assembly House, a simulated National Assembly session was organised.

    The Environmental Protection Committee held its sixth sitting on 26 and 27 November. At the beginning of the sitting, on 26 November, the Committee members discussed in principle the Bill on Waste Management and the Bill on Packaging and Packaging Waste submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

    Second Inter-Parliamentary Meeting National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia-European Parliament Held

    The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia was the host of the Second Inter-Parliamentary Meeting National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia-European Parliament, held at the National Assembly House between 24 and 26 November 2008. The first working session of the Second Inter-parliamentary meeting was held on 25 November in the National Assembly’s Small Plenary Hall, and it was chaired by the Chairman of the National Assembly European Integrations Committee, Laslo Varga and the Chairwoman of the EP Delegation for Relations with Southeastern-European Countries, Doris Pack.

    National Assembly Speaker Talks to OSCE Mission Head

    The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Hans Ola Urstad, with whom she spoke of the future cooperation between the National Assembly and this international organisation.
