Fifth Sitting of the Legislative Committee

At the sitting held on 16 July, the Legislative Committee deemed legally feasible one amendment submitted to the Proposal of the Resolution of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on the continuity of state policy towards Kosovo-Metohija and two amendments submitted to the Bill on the confirmation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States on one and the Republic of Serbia on the other side.

Second Sitting of the Industry Committee

At its second sitting, held on 16 July, the Industry Committee discussed in principle the Bill on the confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the oil and gas field.

Fifth Sitting of the Administrative Committee

At the sitting held on 16 July, the Administrative Committee ascertained that the conditions have been met to acknowledge the mandates of deputies Smiljana Milisavljevic, Milan Stanimirovic, Snezana Sedlar-Kenig, Slavoljub Mitov, Srdjan Mikovic and Janko Veselinovic elected from the electoral list For European Serbia-Boris Tadic, deputies Branko Ruzic, Zoran Kasalovic, Dejan Radenkovic and Djura Peric elected from the SPS-PUPS-US electoral list and deputies Slobodan Samardzic and Velimir Ilic elected from the DPS-NS-Vojilsav Kostunica electoral list and proposed that the National Assembly acknowledge the verification of the newly elected deputies’ mandates.

Fourth Sitting of the Administrative Committee

At the sitting held on 16 July, the Administrative Committee ascertained that by tendering their resignations deputies’ Goran Bogdanovic, Oliver Dulic, Vladimir Jovanovic, Vesna Martinovic, Nadica Momirov and Ana Tomanova-Makanova, elected from the electoral list For European Serbia-Boris Tadic, deputies’ Ivica Dacic, Dr Jovan Krkobabic, Milutin Mrkonjic and Dr Zarko Obradovic, elected from the SPS-PUPS-US electoral list and deputies’ Dragan Jovanovic and Branislav Nedimovic elected from the DPS-NS-Vojilsav Kostunica electoral list mandates as members of parliament have ended before the end of the term they were elected for and proposed that the National Assembly acknowledge the end of the deputies’ mandates.

Second Sitting of the Finance Committee

At the sitting held on 16 July the Finance Committee discussed in principle the set of bills on the confirmation of international financial agreements included in the agenda for the Fourth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2008. The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson Jorgovanka Tabakovic.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the Greek Ambassador, Christos Panagopoulos who congratulated her on being elected Speaker of the National Assembly.

First Sitting of the European Integrations Committee

The European Integrations Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held its first sitting on 15 July, convened under article 26 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic. Until the election of the Chairman, the sitting was chaired by the oldest Committee member, deputy Momir Markovic.

Fourth Sitting of the Legislative Committee

At the sitting held on 15 July under the chairmanship of Vlatko Ratkovic, the Legislative Committee discussed all the Bills included in the agenda of the Fourth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2008.After hearing the statements of reason for submitting the Proposal of the Resolution of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on the continuity of state policy towards Kosovo-Metohija expressed by the representative of the submitters, Goran Bogdanovic, Minister for Kosovo-Metohija, the Committee deemed, with seven reserved opinions, that the proposed act is in agreement with the Serbian Constitution and legal order.
