Fifth Sitting of the Committee on Justice and Administration
At its fifth sitting, held on 22 September 2008, the Committee on Justice and Administration discussed the notice of the Grand Personnel Council on the termination of duties of judges at their personal request and due to mandatory retirement and adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the termination of judicial duty of 58 judges at their own request and 17 judges due to mandatory retirement.

Speaker of the National Assembly Talks to UNICEF Director
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia received today the UNICEF Director for Serbia Judita Reichenberg Lipovsek, with whom she spoke about the continuation of the cooperation between the parliament and UNICEF in the upcoming period concerning the realisation of the National Plan of Action for Children, adopted in 2004. Both agreed with the estimate that the National Assembly and the Government must be involved more directly in various activities whose goal is the improvement of the protection of children.

First Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee
The Environmental Protection Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held its first sitting on 16 September 2008, convened, under article 26 of the National Assembly’s Rules of Procedure, by the Speaker of the National Assembly Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic. Until the election of chairman, the sitting was chaired by the oldest Committee member, deputy Milan Dimitrijevic.
