    Fifth Sitting of the Committee on Relations with Serbs Living Outside Serbia

    At the sitting held on 15 January, the Committee on Relations with Serbs Living Outside Serbia discussed the invitation of the Serbian Centre in Austria to participate in the World Celebration and accompanying events to be held in Vienna between 23 and 25 January 2009, the invitation of the Serbian Diaspora Assembly in France to participate in the “St Sava Days” manifestation to be held in Paris between 27 January and 1 February 2009 and the invitation of the Democratic Party of Serbs in Macedonia to participate in the celebration of St Sava Day to be held in Skopje on 27 January 2009.By a majority of votes, the Committee decided to send three-member Committee delegations to participate in the events in Vienna, Paris and Skopje, and that the composition of the delegations should be determined by the Committee Chairman and Deputy Chairman.

    Thirty-First Sitting of the Legislative Committee

    At the sitting held on 14 January, the Legislative Committee discussed the amendments to the bills included into the agenda for the First Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009.The Committee unanimously deemed legally feasible all the amendments the deputies submitted to the Bill amending the Customs Tariff Law, the Bill amending and modifying the Property Tax Law, the Bill amending and modifying the Excise Tax Law, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Republic Administrative Fees, the Bill on temporary tax exemption from Personal Income Tax to specific types of income, the Bill amending and modifying the Mandatory Social Insurance Contributions Law and the Bill amending the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance.

    Fourteenth Sitting of the Finance Committee

    At the sitting held on 14 January, the Finance Committee discussed in detail the bills included into the agenda for the First Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009.The deputies submitted the total of 97 amendments: the Bill amending the Customs Tariff Law (9), the Bill amending and modifying the Property Tax Law (13), the Bill amending and modifying the Excise Tax Law (27), the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Republic Administrative Fees (40), the Bill on temporary tax exemption from Personal Income Tax to specific types of income (3) and the Bill amending and modifying the Mandatory Social Insurance Contributions Law (5).

    First Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009

    The First Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, convened at the request of the Government by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, commenced on Monday, 12 January 2009, at 12 p. m. The Request to hold the session set the following agenda: 1. The Bill amending the Customs Tariff Law,2. The Bill amending and modifying the Property Tax Law, 3. The Bill amending and modifying the Excise Tax Law, 4. The Bill amending and modifying the Law on Republic Administrative Fees, 5. The Bill on temporary tax exemption from Personal Income Tax to specific types of income, 6. the Bill amending and modifying the Mandatory Social Insurance Contributions Law,7. The Bill amending and modifying the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance.

    Thirteenth Sitting of the Finance Committee

    At the sitting held on 12 January and chaired by the Committee Deputy Chairperson, Branka Ljiljak, the Finance Committee discussed in principle the bills included into the agenda for the First Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009.On the behalf of the submitters, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Slobodan Ilic shortly elaborated the bills for the Committee members.
