On Monday 21 June, at the Serbian Assembly, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, and the head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, His Excellency Ambassador Maurizio Massari, rewarded authors of the best essays on the topic "If I were Prime Minister, I would…".

Talks on improving the efficiency of Serbia’s courts
The chairman and members of the National Assembly’s Committee on Justice and Administration, Branislav Ristivojevic, Vojkan Tomic and Istvan Takacs, met today at the Assembly the American legal expert Markus Zimmer and representatives of the consultancy Booz Allen Hamilton, on a visit to Serbia at the invitation of the Ministry of Justice.

Co-operation to improve after presidential elections
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and acting President of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, met ambassadors of the Vysehrad Group, made up of ambassadors of the Czech Republic, Judita Stouracova, Hungary, Jozsef Pandur, Poland, Tadeusz Diem, and Slovakia, Miroslav Lajcak.

Improving the work of the Serbian Assembly’s economic committees
Continuing co-operation initiated during the previous convocation of the Assembly, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) approved Improving institutions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, a project of the Centre for Liberal Democratic Studies.

Open Day at the Serbian Assembly
The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia has instituted Open Days. The first of these will be Monday 31 May; Assembly Chairman Predrag Markovic will open the parliament’s door at 11 a.

Talks on plans for a political solution to the situation in Kosovo and Metohia
The chairman of the Committee on Kosovo and Metohia, Dusan Prorokovic, held talks today at the assembly with an OSCE delegation, made up of Dieter Boden, head of the German Standing Delegation with the OSCE, Yves Doutriaux, head of the French Delegation, Guido Lenzi, head of the Italian Delegation, and Colin Munro, head of the British Delegation with the OSCE, as well as Maurizio Massari, head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro.
