National Assembly Commemorates Democracy Day
The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia commemorates the international Day of Democracy, 15 September, by publishing a message dedicated to democracy at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia website: DEMOCRACY Today, it seems that, after a long search and some dangerous experiments, history has decided in favour of democracy as a long-term and universal form of political governance.

Eleventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009 Convened
At the request of the Government, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Eleventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, for Thursday, 16 July, starting at 3 p. m. The Government withdrew their request to hold an extraordinary session on 9 July and forwarded a request to the National Assembly to hold an extraordinary session with a new agenda.

Tenth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009 Convened
At the request of the Government, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Tenth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, for Wednesday, 8 July, starting at 5 p. m. As specified in the Request to hold the sitting, the agenda shall contain the Bill on the Budgetary System, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Republic Administrative Fees, the Bill granting guarantee by the Republic of Serbia in favour of “MARFIN BANK†Belgrade under the debt of Public Enterprise “Serbian Roads†and the Bill amending the Labour Law.

National Assembly Delegation Talks to Delegation of Hungarian Prosecutor’s Office
A delegation of the National Assembly, comprising National Assembly Deputy Speaker Judita Popovic and the Chairmen of the Administrative Committee and Justice and Administration Committee, Nenad Konstantinovic and Bosko Ristic respectively, talked to a delegation of the Hungarian Prosecutor’s Office headed by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Hungary, Dr Tamas Kovacs, at the National Assembly House.

At the request of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Seventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, for Wednesday, 3 June 2009, starting at 3 p. m. As specified in the Request to hold the session, the agenda will contain the Decision Proposal on the Participation of Ministry of Defence and Serbian Army Medical Service Professionals within the Norwegian contingent of the United Nations Peace Mission to the Republic of Chad and Central African Republic (MINURCAT).
