On 6 January 2026, the Security Services Control Committee held a sitting closed to the public, where it considered and adopted the Military Security Agency regular semi-annual reports for the previous period.
Military Security Agency Director Lieutenant General Djuro Jovanic and his associates presented the reports which fully cover the activities, by element, within the Military Security Agency’s purview.
Bearing in mind the complex military-political situation in the region and the world, the Military Security Agency had successfully performed all tasks in response to challenges, risks and threats to the security of the Republic of Serbia.
Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic stressed that the security situation in the country is stable, for the most part thanks to the Agency and that he believes the return of the mandatory military service will be an additional challenge for the operative work of the Military Security Agency.
In the context of technological development, the further work of the Military Security Agency requires constant modernisation of security structures via equipping them with modern means, quality selection and training of personnel, as well as adaptation of the security architecture, in which the Agency has the full support of the Committee.
The members of the Security Services Control Committee positively assessed the work of the members of the Military Security Agency and concluded that in the reporting period, the Agency performed all tasks within its jurisdiction in accordance with the law.
The high-quality work of the Military Security Agency on the tasks of security and counterintelligence protection of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as in combating organised crime and corruption, contributes to preserving stability and protecting the national interests of the Republic of Serbia.
