    DPS Deputy Group President Talks to PACE Monitoring Committee Rapporteurs

    Today at the National Assembly, the President of the Democratic Party of Serbia Deputy Group, Milos Aligrudic talked to the members of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Monitoring Committee, Andreas Gross and Artemy Karpenko about the reasons why the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia did not dispatch a delegation to the regular PACE session in January, the amendments and modifications to the National Assembly Rules of Procedure and the issue of live broadcasting of assembly sessions.

    Bajram Omeragic Talks to Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation Representative

    Vice President of the Minorities Deputy Group, Bajram Omeragic received the representative of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Monica Eger and her associate Prof. Bozidar Jaksic. They talked about future cooperation between Serbia and Switzerland on minority rights protection. Monica Eger stressed that the goal of her visit to Serbia is to become closely acquainted with the position of minorities, since, as a bilateral donor, Switzerland is preparing a strategy of cooperation with Serbia on this issue for the 2010 – 2013 period.

    Deputies Visit Bulgaria

    As part of a project intended to strengthen the poverty reduction capacities of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia committees, members of seven chosen National Assembly committees visited Bulgaria between 25 and 29 January 2009. The visit was organised by the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence in cooperation with the UNDP office.

    LDP Deputies Talk to Non-Government Organisations Representatives

    Today, at the National Assembly, the deputies of the Liberal Democratic Party talked to the representatives of the non-government organisations who had launched the initiative to have the National Assembly endorse the European Parliament Resolution on proclaiming 11 July the Commemorative Day of the Srebrenica crime.

    National Assembly and Slovenian Foreign Affairs Committees Chairmen Meet

    The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Dragoljub Micunovic met today at the National Assembly House with the Slovenian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ivo Vajgl. In the talk, they exchanged information on the current situation in Serbia and Slovenia and expressed an interest to further overall relations between the two countries.
