Today, at the National Assembly, the deputies of the Liberal Democratic Party talked to the representatives of the non-government organisations who had launched the initiative to have the National Assembly endorse the European Parliament Resolution on proclaiming 11 July the Commemorative Day of the Srebrenica crime.

Presenting the initiative, deputy Natasa Micic stressed that condemning the crimes perpetrated during the 1990s wars on the territory of ex-Yugoslavia is Serbia’s moral obligation and a condition for its European integration. She reminded that the Liberal Democratic Party had previously proposed the adoption of a declaration on the obligations of Serbian state organs and fulfillment of the decisions of the International Court of Justice, which would include the initiative to accept the EP Resolution.

The participants in the meeting agreed that by showing such support the National Assembly would express an unambiguous intention to break the continuity of the policy of violating the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
