    National Assembly Speaker Visits Tohoku Region

    The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, currently in visit to Japan at the invitation of the Speaker of the Japanese Parliament’s Lower House Takahiro Yokomichi, visited the Tohoku region, ravaged by the earthquake and tsunami in March of this year.

    Thirty-Ninth Sitting of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija

    The thirty-ninth sitting of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija that started on 28 and continued on 29 November has not been concluded and, as announced by the Committee Chairman, would be continued when the conditions have been met for the Committee members to discuss the negotiations with the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina held on 21 and 22 November 2011 in Brussels, based on a written report.

    PACE Standing Committee Holds Meeting in Edinburgh

    The Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe met in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, on 26 November 2011. At the meeting, the Committee adopted the report on “Psychological Violence” drafted by deputy member of the National Assembly’s Standing Delegation to the PACE Elvira Kovacs as the Rapporteur of the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men.

    National Assembly Speaker Presents Medals to K. Yoneda and M. Suzuki

    The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, as a special envoy of the President of the Republic of Serbia Boris Tadic, at a ceremonial reception at the Serbian Embassy in Tokyo, presented the Medal of the Serbian Flag, third order, for their contributions to the development and strengthening of peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between the Republic of Serbia and Japan, to Kenzo Yoneda and Michitaki Suzuki.
