Thirty-Ninth Sitting of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija
The thirty-ninth sitting of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija that started on 28 and continued on 29 November has not been concluded and, as announced by the Committee Chairman, would be continued when the conditions have been met for the Committee members to discuss the negotiations with the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina held on 21 and 22 November 2011 in Brussels, based on a written report.
The sitting was called so that the Committee might be informed on the results of the last round of negotiations in Brussels, but, because of the most recent events in the north of the Province, the beginning of the sitting has been delayed twice, and the agenda was expanded to include the information on the events in Jagnjenica where conflicts with the local populace ensued after KFOR had forcibly removed the barricades. Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic submitted a report on it to the Committee members and attending MPs. He informed the Committee of the new situation and pointed out the danger of escalating conflicts which is why he called upon the members of the international community and KFOR to resolve the issue by peaceful dialogue, and the Serbs not to fall for provocations.
