Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2014
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2014, for Tuesday, 20 May 2014, starting at 10 am.
At the beginning of the sitting, the Chair, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic called for a minute of silence to pay respects to the victims of the natural disaster that struck Serbia.
The National Assembly Speaker thanked the members of the Serbian Army, Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia and all the volunteers for their selfless assistance in containing the impact of the catastrophe which struck Serbia.
The Chair, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic asked the MPs to pay respects to the late academician Dobrica Cosic, Serbian novelist and the first President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, by a minute of silence.
The National Assembly set the following agenda:
1. Proposal of the Statute of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina accompanied by the Proposal of the Decision granting prior consent to the Proposal of the Statute of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, submitted by the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
Before moving onto the agenda, MP Jasmina Obradovic, as the authorised representative of her parliamentary group, requested information and explanations in line with article 287 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.
The National Assembly commenced the single debate on the Proposal of the Statute of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina accompanied by the Proposal of the Decision granting prior consent to the Proposal of the Statute of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, which was elaborated by the representative of the submitter, Istvan Pasztor, Speaker of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
In the course of the sitting, MP Goran Vukadinovic took the oath of office.
As the National Assembly had completed the single debate the only item on the agenda, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic set Tuesday, 20 May 2014, as Voting Day on the only item on the agenda for the Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2014, starting at 1 pm.
Voting Day
On Voting Day, 20 May, by a majority vote, the Assembly passed the Decision granting prior consent to the Proposal of the Statute of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
As the National Assembly had completed the debate the only item on the agenda and ruled on it, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic concluded the Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2014.
The National Assembly Speaker informed the MPs that the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly in 2014, adjourned on 15 May, would be continued on Wednesday, 21 May 2014, at 10 am, by a debate in principle on item 12 on the agenda - Bill amending the Road Traffic Safety Law.
