Third Session of the First Regular Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2003

The Third Session of the First Regular Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2003 was convened by the Chairperson of the National Assembly, Natasa Micic, for Tuesday 1 April, beginning at 11 a.


The Third Session of the First Regular Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2003 was convened by the Chairperson of the National Assembly, Natasa Micic, for Tuesday 1 April, beginning at 11 a.m. The following agenda was proposed for the session:

1. Proposal of the Decision on Adopting the Accord of Member States on Defining the Final Status of Bodies and Organisations from Article 15 of the Act on the Implementation of the Constitutional Charter of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;
2. Ministries Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;
3. Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on the Budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2003, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

On the first day of work, the National Assembly held a joint debate in principle on the Proposal of the Decision on Adopting the Accord of Member States on Defining the Final Status of Bodies and Organisations from Article 15 of the Act on the Implementation of the Constitutional Charter of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro and on the Ministries Bill, and commenced to discuss amendments submitted to the Ministries Bill.

Adoption of legislation to re-balance the Budget

During the morning part of the second day in session (2 April), the National Assembly concluded debate on amendments submitted to the Ministries Bill.

At the beginning of the debate in principle on the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on the Budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2003, the Deputies were addressed by the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Zoran Zivkovic, and the Minister of Finance and the Economy Bozidar Djelic. The National Assembly concluded debate in principle and went on to vote on amendments submitted to the Bill.

The National Assembly ended the Third Session of its First Regular Sitting in 2003 by adopting the Proposal of the Decision on Adopting the Accord of Member States on Defining the Final Status of Bodies and Organisations from Article 15 of the Act on the Implementation of the Constitutional Charter of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, as well as the Ministries Bill and the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on the Budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2003.
