The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, convened the First Session of the Second Regular Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2004 for 12 p.m. on Wednesday 6 October 2004.

The National Assembly adopted the following agenda for the session:

1. Proposal of the Resolution on Joining the European Union, submitted by a group of six deputies;
2. Proposals of decisions upholding the immunity of several deputies, submitted by the Administrative Committee on 11 May, 15 July, 18 August and 29 September 2004, and the
3. Proposal of the Decision Amending the Decision on the Election of Members of Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by deputy Goran Paunovic, chairman of the G17 Plus Deputies’ Group.

Before the debate commenced, the National Assembly noted the confirmation of the mandate of deputy Vesna Obradovic, elected from the G17 Plus – Miroljub Labus Electoral List, based on the report of the Republic Electoral Commission and the recommendation of the Administrative Committee.
The National Assembly noted that Professor Dr Ljiljana Colic had resigned the office of Minister of Education and Sport in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

On the first day of the session, the deputies discussed the Resolution on Joining the European Union in principle.

On the second day of the session (7 October), the National Assembly concluded joint debate on the Resolution on Joining the European Union.

Mr Markovic declared Wednesday 13 October Voting Day.

On the third day of the sitting (13 October), the National Assembly held a joint debate on the proposals of decisions on upholding the immunity of several deputies and on the Proposal of the Decision Amending the Decision on the Election of Members of Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

As the Assembly had adopted the Proposal of the Resolution on Joining the European Union, the proposals of decisions on upholding the immunity of several deputies, as well as the Proposal of the Decision Amending the Decision on the Election of Members of Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, the Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic, concluded the First Session of the Second Regular Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2004.
