Eighth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the Eighth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015, for Tuesday, 19 May, starting at 10 am.
The National Assembly established the following agenda:
1. Bill amending and modifying the Air Transport Law, submitted by the Government;
2. Proposal of an authentic interpretation of the provision of Article 54, Paragraph 1 of the Law on Higher Education, submitted by the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues of the National Assembly.
The National Assembly commenced a debate in principle on the Bill amending and modifying the Air Transport Law, which was elaborated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic.
On the third day on the proceedings, 21 May, before moving onto the agenda, the heads i.e. authorised representatives of the parliamentary groups, MPs Zlata Djeric, Branka Karavidic, Aleksandra Jerkov and Dragan Sormaz, requested information and explanations in line with article 287 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.
The National Assembly then commenced a debate in detail on the Bill amending and modifying the Air Transport Law. The sitting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Prof. Dr Zorana Mihajlovic, Assistant Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zoran Ilic and the Head of the Civil Aviation Directorate Mirjana Cizmarov.
On the third day on the proceedings, the National Assembly completed the debate in detail on the Bill amending and modifying the Air Transport Law.
As the National Assembly had completed a debate on all the items on the agenda, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Konstantin Arsenovic set Thursday, 21 May 2015, as Voting Day on all the items on the agenda for the Eighth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015, starting at 2.10 pm.
On Voting Day, 21 May, the National Assembly passed the Bill amending and modifying the Air Transport Law, submitted by the Government, by majority vote.
By majority vote, the National Assembly also adopted the Proposal of an authentic interpretation of the provision of Article 54, Paragraph 1 of the Law on Higher Education, submitted by the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues.
On Voting Day, the National Assembly ruled on the violations of the Rules of Procedure the MPs complained of in the course of the sitting and decided that none of the provisions of the Rules of Procedure had been violated.
As the National Assembly had completed the debate on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, National Assembly Deputy Speaker MA Igor Becic concluded the Eighth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015.
