Twenty-Third Sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security
At the sitting held on 20 April, the Committee on Defense and Security considered the Military Intelligence Agency’s (VOA) 2009 Activity Report.
At the sitting held on 20 April, the Committee on Defense and Security considered the Military Intelligence Agency’s (VOA) 2009 Activity Report.
The VOA’s Activity Report was presented to the Committee members by its Deputy Director, Dragan Vladisavljevic, who attended the Committee sitting along with his associates.
Following a discussion, the Committee adopted the Military Intelligence Agency’s 2009 Activity Report and concluded to organise a visit of the Committee members to the Military Intelligence Agency in the upcoming period.
At the proposal of Committee member Marko Djurisic, the Committee on Defense and Security adopted the following
Conclusions
The Committee on Defense and Security notes an escalation of violence in the past few days, the most drastic forms of which have caused disturbances and public outrage that calls for more intensive activities of the state authorities in suppressing such occurrences and penalising the perpetrators.
The Committee on Defense and Security notes that the National Assembly session chamber itself has been the scene of incidents that could have endangered the safety of certain deputies.
The Committee demands that all the deputies and competent services at the National Assembly strictly observe the Rules of Procedure and decisions regulating the internal order at the National Assembly thus preventing the recurrence of situations in which the deputies might be endangered in any way.
The Committee demands that the National Assembly’s security service enforce strict control of persons entering the National Assembly buildings.
The sitting was chaired by the Committee Deputy Chairman, Dusan Bajatovic.
