Twentieth Sitting of the Committee on Science and Technological Development
At the sitting held on 24 February, the members of the Committee on Science and Technological Development considered in principle the Bill on Geographical Indications, then the Bill on the Confirmation of the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purpose of the Registration of Marks of 15 June 1957, as revised in Stockholm on 14 July 1967 and Geneva on 13 May 1977 and as amended on 28 September 1979 and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Patent Law Treaty, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
At the sitting held on 24 February, the members of the Committee on Science and Technological Development considered in principle the Bill on Geographical Indications, then the Bill on the Confirmation of the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purpose of the Registration of Marks of 15 June 1957, as revised in Stockholm on 14 July 1967 and Geneva on 13 May 1977 and as amended on 28 September 1979 and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Patent Law Treaty, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
On the behalf of the Intellectual Property Office, the sitting was attended by the Director Branka Totic and Assistant Director Mirela Boskovic who outlined the Bills for the Committee members.
The Committee members accepted the Bill on Geographical Indications in principle, by a majority of votes.
The Bill on the Confirmation of the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purpose of the Registration of Marks of 15 June 1957, as revised in Stockholm on 14 July 1967 and Geneva on 13 May 1977 and as amended on 28 September 1979 was also accepted by a majority of votes, while the Bill on the Confirmation of the Patent Law Treaty was accepted by a majority of votes with the reserved opinions of deputies Sreto Peric and Srboljub Zivanovic.
The Committee members went on to discuss a sitting on biofuels, to be held in Vladimirci i.e. outside of the seat of the Committee on Science and Technological Development.
The sitting was chaired by Srboljub Zivanovic, Committee Chairman.
