Twentieth Sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security
At the twentieth sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security, held on 10 March, Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic and Police Chief Milorad Veljovic briefed the Committee members on the murder of police officer Zeljko Zecevic.
At the twentieth sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security, held on 10 March, Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic and Police Chief Milorad Veljovic briefed the Committee members on the murder of police officer Zeljko Zecevic.
Following a discussion, the Committee members unanimously concluded:
The Committee severely condemns the murder of police officer Zeljko Zecevic who lost his life in the line of duty.
The Committee requests that the judicial authorities pronounce the strictest legal measures for criminal offenses such as attack on police officers in the line of duty.
The Committee requests that the competent state authorities, within their capabilities, secure additional finances to ensure more efficient and safer working conditions for the police.
The Committee also concluded to propose that the Administrative Committee adopt a decision requiring the deputies to donate a daily wage to assist the family of the late police officer Zeljko Zecevic.
The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman Dragan Todorovic.
