At the sitting held on 18 October, the Committee on Defense and Security considered the Bills on the confirmation of four international agreements, submitted by the Government and included into the agenda for the Third Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010. The Committee also included into its agenda the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Travel Documents, included into the agenda for the Fourth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010.

The Committee sitting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Interior who explained the Bills.

The Committee members unanimously accepted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Russian Federation in the sphere of humanitarian reactions in emergency situations, prevention of natural disasters and technogenic accidents and elimination of their consequences.

By a majority of votes, the Committee members accepted the Bills on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in the fight against crime, the Police Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria on the establishment and functioning of a joint contact centre for police and customs cooperation.

The Committee also accepted the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Travel Documents, in principle.
