At the sitting held on 15 April 2010, the members of the Committee on Health and the Family considered in detail the Bill on Protection from Exposure to Tobacco Smoke and the Bill on Medicines and Medical Devices.

On the behalf of the submitters, the sitting was attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Dr Perisa Simonovic and Assistant Minister of Health Zorica Pavlovic.

The deputies submitted a total of 62 amendments to the Bill on Protection from Exposure to Tobacco Smoke, while deputy Dusanka Plecevic withdrew her amendment to article 9. The Committee accepted 4 of the amendments. The Committee also submitted amendments to articles 3, 7 and 9 of the Bill.

To the Bill on Medicines and Medical Devices, the deputies submitted a total of 64 amendments. The Committee accepted 12 of the amendments, and rejected 52. The Committee also submitted amendments to articles 27 and 176 of the Bill.

Simo Vukovic, Committee Deputy Chairman, was appointed Committee rapporteur for the National Assembly session.
