Tenth Sitting of the Finance Committee

At the tenth sitting, held on 23 December, the Finance Committee members discussed in principle the bills amending and modifying the Property Tax Law, amending and modifying the Excise Tax Law, amending and modifying the Customs Tariff and amending and modifying the Law on Republic Administrative Fees.



At the tenth sitting, held on 23 December, the Finance Committee members discussed in principle the bills amending and modifying the Property Tax Law, amending and modifying the Excise Tax Law, amending and modifying the Customs Tariff and amending and modifying the Law on Republic Administrative Fees. The bills on temporary tax exemption from Personal Income Tax to specific types of income, amending and modifying the Mandatory Social Insurance Contributions Law and amending the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance were also discussed in principle. In addition, the Committee members also discussed the Bill on the Confirmation of the Loan Agreement (“Delivery of Improved Local Services” project) between the Republic of Serbia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Janko Guzijan briefly outlined all the bills for the Committee. He stressed that they all pertain to the alleviation of the effect of the world economic crisis, unilateral implementation of the SAA, increase of the budget revenue and partial coverage of losses stemming from the unilateral implementation of the SAA, as well as the adjustment of the existent legal regulations with the 2009 Budget Bill. The Bill on the Confirmation of the Loan Agreement (“Delivery of Improved Local Services” project) between the Republic of Serbia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development deals with health, education and tax administration services, and the benefit of 32 million euros in total will go to local self-administration.

Following a short discussion, the Finance Committee accepted all the bills in principle by a majority of votes, with the reserved opinion of deputy Mladen Grujic.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Deputy Chairperson, Branka Ljiljak.
