Sixth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2004

The Government of the Republic of Serbia set the following agenda for the Sixth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2004, convened by Predrag Markovic, the Chairman of the National Assembly, for 1 July 2004.


The Government of the Republic of Serbia set the following agenda for the Sixth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2004, convened by Predrag Markovic, the Chairman of the National Assembly, for 1 July 2004:

1. Bankruptcy Proceedings Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

2. Bill on the Trustee Licencing Agency, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

3. Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Social Protection and the Provision of Social Security, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

4. Value Added Tax Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

5. Bill Amending and Modifying the Sales Tax Act, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

6. Bill Amending and Modifying the Corporate Income Tax Act, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

7. Bill on Contributions for Compulsory Social Insurance, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

8. Lotteries Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

9. Medicines and Medical Supplies Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

10. Energy Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia;

11. Bill Amending and Modifying the Ministries’ Act, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The first day of the sitting saw the National Assembly discuss the Bankruptcy Proceedings Bill in principle.

On the second day of the sitting (5 July), the National Assembly discussed the Bankruptcy Proceedings Bill in principle and in particular.

Assembly Chairman Predrag Markovic informed the deputies that deputy Bojan Pajtic had been designated chairman of the Democratic Party Deputies’ Group.

On the third day of the sitting (6 July), the deputies commenced to discuss the Bill on the Trustee Licencing Agency in principle.

On the fourth day of the sitting (7 July), the National Assembly concluded discussing the Bill on the Trustee Licencing Agency in principle and in particular. The deputies then went on to commence debate in principle on the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Social Protection and the Provision of Social Security.

At the beginning of the fifth day’s session (on 8 July), on the basis of the Report of the Republic Electoral Commission and the Report and Suggestion of the Administrative Committee, the National Assembly verified the mandate of deputy Zoran Alimpic, elected from the Democratic Party - Boris Tadic electoral list.

The deputies then went on to conclude discussion on the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Social Protection and the Provision of Social Security in principle and in particular. When the discussion ended, Minister Slobodan Lalovic gave a concluding statement.

On the sixth day of the sitting (12 July), the deputies commenced debate in principle on the Value Added Tax Bill. The Bill was presented by the Minister of Finance, Mladjan Dinkic.

At the beginning of the seventh day’s session (on 13 July), at the suggestion of the Administrative Committee, the National Assembly noted that the mandates of deputies Milutin Prodanovic, Rados Ljusic, Branislav Ristivojevic, Branimir Trajkovic and Nenad Lemajic, elected from the Democratic Party of Serbia - Vojislav Kostunica Electoral List, had terminated before the expiry of the term which they had been elected to, on the date of their resignations.

On the basis of the Report of the Republic Electoral Commission and the Report and Suggestion of the Administrative Committee, the National Assembly verified the mandates of deputies Gordana Cabric, Branislav Tosic, Branislav Nedimovic, Zoran Nenadovic and Dusan Djurovic, elected from the Democratic Party of Serbia - Vojislav Kostunica Electoral List.

The National Assembly then went on to discuss the Value Added Tax Bill in principle and in particular, and commence debate in principle on the Bill Amending and Modifying the Sales Tax Act.

On the eighth day of the sitting (14 July), the National Assembly concluded debate in principle and in particular on the Bill Amending and Modifying the Sales Tax Act.

The deputies then went on to complete the discussion of the Bill Amending and Modifying the Corporate Income Tax Act in principle, and commence to debate its particulars.

The Assembly continues its session.
