National Assembly Speaker Meets with Students

The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia was visited by the students of the Belgrade Faculty of International Politics and Security and were welcomed by Speaker Dr Vladimir Orlic.

Greeting the students, Dr Orlic highlighted the importance of the National Assembly House as our people and state’s historical and cultural monument, as well as the role of the Parliament in the pursuit of state policy. “The message you will always hear from the President of the Republic, us in the National Assembly and the Serbian Government is that state policy of our own can exist only if it is sovereign and autonomous, turned to our own interests. It only makes sense if it is directed toward every man and successful only if it yields results, visible and lasting, such as a new highway, hospitals, increased number of the employees and growth of pensions and salaries. This attitude to state policy and Serbia is what guides us today”, said Dr Orlic.

He told the students that wherever they may be or whatever they do tomorrow, they should always think of their country and what they can do for it. “What would be most precious for Serbia itself is if you were to stay and live here, realise your professional potential, personal and family life and build your future here”, the Assembly Speaker concluded.
