The visit was attended by the President of the City Municipality of Grocka Stefan Dilberovic, school Principal Dragoljub Gacic and the members of the School Board.

H.E. Ambassador Eldar Hasanov visited Nikola Tesla elementary school in Lestane in accordance with the well-developed cooperation between the parliamentary friendship groups of Azerbaijan and Serbia, at the initiative of MP Katarina Rakic.

The purpose of the visit was to look into how Azerbaijan can contribute and help improve the study conditions for the students of the elementary school.

The elementary school building is in bad repair, and its capacities need to be expanded to receive all the children in Lestane and cover their needs, considering that their numbers rise from year to year.

In view of the previous activities of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Azerbaijan, in the coming period, all options for Azerbaijan to help the children from Lestane get adequate study conditions will be duly reviewed.

This is one in a series of support activities of Azerbaijan to Serbia, with the great help of the Ambassador, at the initiative of MP Katarina Rakic, and it also included a visit to the Safe House. Gift packages were donated on the occasion, and the signing of a Protocol of Cooperation between the Embassy of Azerbaijan and the Safe House was also discussed, which among other things, envisages the expansion of the kindergarten in the Safe House.
