Fourth Sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Dragan Todorovic, and attended, on the behalf of the authorised submitter, by Milorad Todorovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.
State Secretary Todorovic briefly explained the Bill stressing that it is article 53 of the Law on Travel Documents that is being modified, which envisages the change in the validity of travel documents to the end of 2009. He informed the Committee members that the Ministry of Interior has started, from June of this year, to issue new, biometric passports, and that to this day about 100 000 new travel documents have been issued.
Following a short discussion, the Committee members accepted in principle the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Travel Documents.
In the continuation, Committee member, deputy Vlajko Senic initiated the forwarding of a memo to the Ministry of Interior and Security-Information Agency requesting information on the burning of files after 5 October 2000, whether the issue had been investigated and if it had, have there been any results.
