8th session of the Committee on Petitions and Proposals
At its eighth session, held on 29 October, the Committee on Petitions and Proposals adopted the Report on the Activities of the Committee on Petitions and Proposals of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia for the Period January – June 2004. The Report was submitted to the National Assembly, while Slobodan Adzic, Committee chairman, was designated as rapporteur.
At its eighth session, held on 29 October, the Committee on Petitions and Proposals adopted the Report on the Activities of the Committee on Petitions and Proposals of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia for the Period January – June 2004. The Report was submitted to the National Assembly, while Slobodan Adzic, Committee chairman, was designated as rapporteur.
The Report states that the Committee held six sessions, with a total of eighteen agenda items, and adopted eighteen conclusions. Five hundred and seventy-four petitions were received and discussed, of which 253 were repeated submissions. Five delegations of members of the public addressed the Committee, and, in addition, there were a large number of direct and telephone contacts.
The Committee’s chairman informed the deputies about the implementation of the Committee’s conclusions regarding the petition submitted by a group of employees of Cacak-based Tehnos. The Committee adopted the report, noting that the implementation was being completed.
The Committee will suggest to local administrative bodies that they should, in constituting local assemblies, establish committees charged with dealing with petitions from members of the public, if such committees do not exist at present.
