54th Sitting of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications

At the sitting held on 4 February, the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications reviewed and accepted the Report on the execution of the Republic of Serbia Spatial Plan and the state of spatial development in 2014.


The long and hard work on the implementation of the Republic of Serbia Spatial Plan, comprising qualitative and quantitative analysis of the situation in the Republic of Serbia, was presented by representatives of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.

They spoke of the system of strategic planning and management of spatial development in the Republic of Serbia and the degree of completion of the objectives of the Republic of Serbia Spatial Plan and the situation as regards spatial development from 2010 to 2015. They said that the Republic of Serbia had been compiling reports on spatial development and implementation of spatial plans at the level of the state since 2011, and the plan is to start drafting such reports at the regional level as well.

They also stressed that the Republic of Serbia should work to improve its statistical system which, at the European level, should be adjusted to the methodological framework set out by the EU Statistical Office (Eurostat), which collects and publishes statistical data on the European Union member states, states outside of the EU and data obtained from international organisations, in view of which, Serbia needs to, within its EU accession talks, Chapter 18 – Statistics, harmonise its legislation with the EU acquis relating to statistics.

On the behalf of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure the sitting was attended by acting assistant minister Djordje Milic and associates.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milutin Mrkonjic and attended by Committee members and deputy members Zoran Bojanic, Mujo Mukovic, Vuceta Toskovic, Dragan Aleksic, Ivana Stojiljkovic, Radmilo Kostic, Zoran Milekic, Suzana Spasojevic, Branka Bosnjak, Konstantin Arsenovic and Dragan Jovanovic.
