39th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 5 May, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government discussed and adopted, in principle, the Bill on the Protection of the Right to Trial within a Reasonable Time and the Bill amending the Law on Judges, submitted by the Government.

The Committee also discussed and adopted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Government of the Russian Federation on Mutual Protection of Classified Information, submitted by the Government, and the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time, submitted by the High Judicial Council.

The sitting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the High Judicial Council who provided the rationale for the proposed acts.

The sitting was chaired by Petar Petrovic, Committee Chairman.
