At the sitting held on 16 July, the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee considered the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the second quarter of 2018.

Presenting the Activity Information, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Velimir Stanojevic briefed the Committee members on the projects and investments realized in the second quarter of the year. He said that despite all this the yield is expected to exceed last year’s and the quality of the grain will be assessed after storage. To preclude damages to crops in the coming year, Stanojevic said the Ministry had planned to allocate funds to set up automated anti-hail stations.

Committee member Milija Miletic said that the ongoing harvest in eastern Serbia and will have a big impact on the quality of the grain. Speaking about the fruit yield, Miletic pointed out that it will require extra storage space.
