30th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 22 December, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government reviewed the Proposal of the Decision on the election of court presidents and the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time, submitted by the High Judicial Council.


The Proposal of the Decision on the election of court presidents was presented by judges Ivan Jovicic and Aleksandar Pantic, representatives of the High Judicial Council.

Following a brief debate, the Committee members decided, by majority vote, to propose that the National Assembly accept the Proposal of the Decision on the election of the president of the Higher Court in Pirot, First Basic Court in Belgrade, Basic Court in Sjenica, Misdemeanour Court in Loznica, Misdemeanour Court in Negotin and Misdemeanour Appellate Court.

The representatives of the High Judicial Council, judges Ivan Jovicic and Aleksandar Pantic also presented the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time. Based on the Rulebook on the criteria and standards for election of judges, the Committee proposed that the National Assembly accept the nine candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court, being elected to judicial office for the first time.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Petar Petrovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Sreto Peric, Dr Aleksandar Martinovic, Doc. Dr Mihailo Jokic, Nedjo Jovanovic, Jovan Palalic, Dusan Pavlovic, Slavisa Bulatovic, Marijan Risticevic, Miletic Mihajlovic, Zarko Micin, Balint Pasztor and Marko Parezanovic.
