26th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee

At the sitting held on 21 May, the members of the Culture and Information Committee interviewed the candidates nominated for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and established the candidate list for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.


The list established by the Committee based on the joint proposal of eight parliamentary groups contains Olivera Zekic, politicologist, and Ervin H. Catovic, Master of Arts (painting). The Committee will submit the candidate list to the National Assembly.

The Committee went on to formulate the Conclusion proposal on the reviewed Report on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance and the Law on Personal Data Protection in 2014, submitted by the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, in the part relating to the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance.

The Committee also considered the proposal of Committee member Srdjan Dragojevic to meet with representatives of the creative industries, Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and the Ministry of Culture and Media and discuss ways to promote cultural material on the radio and TV via a minute for culture which would be free.

The Committee will rule on the proposal at one of the upcoming sittings.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Vesna Marjanovic.
