25th Sitting of the Health and Family Committee
At the sitting held on 30 July, the members of the Health and Family Committee discussed the implementation of legislation relating to the continuing education and licensing of healthcare workers.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Prof. Dr Berislav Vekic briefed the Committee members on the proposed amendments to the Rulebook on detailed requirements for issuing, renewing or revoking of licenses of members of healthcare workers’ chambers and the Rulebook on continuing medical education of members of Serbian healthcare workers’ chambers prepared by the Working Commission of the Ministry of Health.
The Committee members and attending representatives of professional medical associations discussed the importance of continuing medical education, accreditation of the trainers, quality patient protection and maintaining the competence of physicians and other healthcare personnel.
Representatives of the Serbian Medical Chamber, Chamber of Dentists, Pharmaceutical Chamber, Chamber of Biochemists of Serbia and the Chamber of Nurses and Medical Technicians of Serbia took part in the debate.
The sitting was chaired by Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, Committee Chairperson.
