25th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee
At the sitting held on 18 May, the Culture and Information Committee discussed the Report on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance and the Law on Personal Data Protection in 2014, submitted by the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, in the part relating to the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance.
He also stressed that some public authorities ignore the requests for free access to information of public importance, which is something that needs to be remedied.
The Committee members declared the Report exhaustive and systematic and asked additional questions about the Commissioner’s authority as regards processing complaints and application of the legislation regulating the area.
The Committee members will rule on the Conclusion proposal on the reviewed Report at one of the upcoming sittings.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Vesna Marjanovic.
