25th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 2 November, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government reviewed the Proposal of the Decision on the election of court presidents and the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time, submitted by the High Judicial Council.

The Committee members decided, by majority vote, to propose that the National Assembly accept the Proposal of the Decision on the election of the president of the Commercial Appellate Court, Commercial Court in Belgrade, Higher Court in Prokuplje, Second Basic Court in Belgrade, Basic Court in Krusevac and Basic Court in Surdulica.

The Committee went on to decide, by majority vote, to propose that the National Assembly accept the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time at the Commercial Court in Belgrade, Commercial Court in Zrenjanin, Commercial Court in Leskovac and the Commercial Court in Kragujevac.

The sitting was attended by Deputy President of the High Judicial Council Branislava Goravica and independent advisor Vesna Janjic.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Petar Petrovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Aleksandar Martinovic, Doc. Dr Mihailo Jokic, Nedjo Jovanovic, Jovan Palalic, Aleksandra Majkic, Marijan Risticevic, Zarko Micin, Balint Pasztor, Marko Parezanovic and Dragan Veljkovic.
