22nd Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee
At the sitting held on 18 April, the members of the Environmental Protection Committee discussed and accepted the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Activity Information for the period covering November and December 2012 and January 2013.
The Ministry’s activity information was presented to the Committee members by Zorana Mihajlovic, Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection. Stressing the importance of the adopted amendments and modifications to the Law on Air Protection, Mihajlovic informed the Committee members that laws on packaging and packaging waste are already in the works. The Minister listed addressing the problem of pharmaceutical and industrial waste and establishing a national chemical laboratory as one of the priorities in the upcoming period.
The Committee members had questions about the monitoring of water, air and soil and the Ministry’s plans as regards improving the quality of the process.
The sitting was chaired by Milica Vojic Markovic, Committee Chairperson.
