On 24 November 2005, the Committee on Kosovo and Metohia of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held a session to discuss the Plan of Activities of the Co-ordinating Body of Serbia and Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohia.

Before presenting the Plan of Activities for 2006, the chairperson of the Co-ordinating Body, Sanda Raskovic-Ivic, informed Committee members of the outcome of talks with UN Special Envoy Martti Ahttisaari at the seat of the Serbian Government. Ms Raskovic-Ivic said that Mr Ahttisaari had been presented with a copy of the Serbian Assembly’s Resolution on the Future Status of Kosovo, and that he had also been acquainted with the fundamental positions from the Resolution, which, she added, was a concrete framework for negotiations on Kosovo’s future status. Ms Raskovic-Ivic underlined that the negotiations would focus on legal status, decentralisation, economic and legal issues, security issues, and the fight against organised crime and potential terrorism.
As the Government of the Republic of Serbia had formed the Serbian negotiating team, Ms Raskovic-Ivic told the Committee that the chief negotiators would be Serbian President Boris Tadic, the Serbian Prime Minister, Vojislav Kostunica, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Montenegro, Vuk Draskovic. She also informed the deputies of the full make-up of the operational part of the team.
Presenting the Co-ordinating Body’s Plan of Activities for 2006, Sanda Raskovic-Ivic spoke of the programme for ensuring the return and survival of the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohia, as well as of programmes of the Body’s individual Sectors: Social Issues, Health and Education, Judiciary and Civil Administration, and Serbian Heritage Preservation.
Having discussed the Plan, the Committee resolved to hold another two sessions in December to discuss the aims and activities of the Co-ordinating Body and the report on the number of persons abducted and missing in Kosovo and Metohia.

The session was attended by the chairman of the Committee on Kosovo and Metohia of the Parliament of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, Veljko Odalovic, and chaired by the Serbian Assembly Committee’s chairman, Dusan Prorokovic.
