15th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015

At the request of 244 MPs, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the 15th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015 for Friday, 24 July, starting at 10 am.


The request to hold the 15th Extraordinary Session specified the following agenda:

1. Proposal of the Decision on the Discharge of Serbian Health Council Member, submitted by the Government;
2. Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Serbian Health Council Members, submitted by the Government;
3. Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judge to Judicial Office for the First Time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, of 25 June 2015;
4. Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judge to Judicial Office for the First Time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, of 15 June 2015;
5. Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judge to Judicial Office for the First Time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, of 24 June 2015;
6. Candidate List for the Election of a Member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media to a Five-Year Term, submitted by the Culture and Information Committee;
7. Proposal of the Decision modifying the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by Boris Tadic – Social Democratic Party, Together for Serbia, Greens of Serbia Parliamentary Group.

By majority vote, the National Assembly accepted the proposal of MP Zoran Babic to complete a joint single debate on items 1 and 2 on the agenda, joint single debate on items 3, 4 and 5 on the agenda and single debate on items 6 and 7 on the agenda.

The MPs then commenced the joint single debate on items 1 and 2 on the agenda, elaborated, on the behalf of the submitter, by Minister of Health Prof. Dr Zlatibor Loncar.

As the National Assembly completed the debate on all the items on the agenda, the Chair, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic, set Friday, 24 July, as Voting Day on all the items on the agenda for the 15th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015, starting at 1 pm.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 24 July, by majority vote, the National Assembly passed the Proposal of the Decision on the Discharge of Serbian Health Council Member, Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Serbian Health Council Members, Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judge to Judicial Office for the First Time, submitted by the High Judicial Council of 25 June 2015 and the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judge to Judicial Office for the First Time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, of 15 June 2015.

Before voting on the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judge to Judicial Office for the First Time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, of 24 June 2015, the National Assembly ruled on the election proposal of each disputed candidate individually. Speaker Gojkovic noted that the National Assembly did not elect candidate Ivana Ivanovic. After the discussion on the disputed candidates the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judge to Judicial Office for the First Time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, of 24 June 2015, barring the disputed candidate, in its entirety, by majority vote.

By majority vote the National Assembly elected Olivera Zekic member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media to a five-year term, from the candidate list submitted by the Culture and Information Committee, and adopted the Proposal of the Decision modifying the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by Boris Tadic – Social Democratic Party, Together for Serbia, Greens of Serbia Parliamentary Group.

On the behalf of the MPs and herself, the National Assembly Speaker congratulated the elected officials and wished them success.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic concluded the 15th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015.
