74th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government
At the sitting held on 16 December, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government decided to propose that the National Assembly put the Proposal of the Decision on the appointment of Supervisory Board on the agenda of the Ninth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2019 under urgent procedure pursuant to Article 168, paragraph 3, of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure so that the National Assembly may pass the Decision on the appointment of Supervisory Board in due time and enable its unimpeded operation in the coming period.

Linta at Privrednik’s 8th Congress of Scholars and Serbian Youth in Zagreb: Be Proud of Your Name and Origin

Gojkovic Convenes Sitting for 24 December, Bill amending and modifying Serbian Armed Forces Law on Agenda
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the 10th Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2019, for Tuesday, 24 December, and proposed that the MPs consider the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces, submitted by the Government.

Gojkovic Opens Women’s Parliamentary Network Seventh National Conference
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic opened the Seventh National Conference of the Women’s Parliamentary Network “Not In My Parliament” at the National Assembly House saying that it is the duty of women MPs and councilwomen from around Serbia to raise awareness on the key problems women have to contend with and open a debate on hate speech against women.

Seventh National Conference of the Women’s Parliamentary Network
The Seventh National Conference of the Women’s Parliamentary Network entitled “Not In My Parliament” began with a minute of silence for the victims of domestic violence. WPN Coordinator Olena Papuga greeted the over 300 participants from local self-governments, NGOs and national minority councils. She stressed that domestic violence affects all structures, regardless of age, place or education which is why it is the conference’s goal to come to conclusions that women MPs can champion to be included into future laws concerning the prevention of violence and the gender equality struggle.

Joint Press Statement after the 3nd European Parliament Facilitated Inter-Party Dialogue
The final round, of the first phase, of the European Parliament facilitated Inter-Party Dialogue was held on 12 and 13 December in the National Assembly of Serbia. It took-stock of the achievements since November’s 2nd Inter-Party Dialogue (IPD) and called for urgent final steps to fulfill the commitments (in the annexed “Implementation Table”) to improve the conditions for holding 2020 Parliamentary Elections.

Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Meets with Chairperson of Italian Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies Committee on Foreign and European Affairs
