Republic of Srpska National Assembly Delegation Visits Republic of Serbia National Assembly
A delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, headed by the National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Nada Tesanovic, paid a return visit to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on 18 and 19 September 2009. At the National Assembly House the guests were greeted by the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Nikola Novakovic and National Assembly Secretary General Veljko Odalovic.

Thirty-Fifth Sitting of the Finance Committee
At the sitting held on 17 September, the members of the Finance Committee considered the 2010 Financial Plan Proposal of the State Audit Institution, Ministry of Finance Report on the Execution of the Republic of Serbia Budget for the period January-June 2009, Budgetary Inspection 2008 Annual Activity Report, National Bank of Serbia Report on Business transactions and results and monetary policy for 2008, National Bank of Serbia 2008 Annual Statement and Deposit Insurance Agency’s 2008 Activity Report.

Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Talks to Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister
The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Dragoljub Micunovic met today in Belgrade with Avigdor Lieberman, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Chairman Micunovic and Minister Lieberman discussed the overall relations between Serbia and Israel, and furthering political and economic cooperation.

National Assembly Delegation Talks to Australian Officials and Serbian Diaspora
During their visit to Australia and meetings in Canberra, the members of the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, headed by the Assembly Speaker, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, talked to Harry Jenkins, Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Hogg, President of the Senate, Julia Bishop, deputy leader of the opposition and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, Steven Smith, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tony Zappia, president of the Australia-Serbia friendship group, Laurie Ferguson, Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs and David Hawker, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

National Assembly Commemorates Democracy Day
The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia commemorates the international Day of Democracy, 15 September, by publishing a message dedicated to democracy at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia website: DEMOCRACY Today, it seems that, after a long search and some dangerous experiments, history has decided in favour of democracy as a long-term and universal form of political governance.
