Twenty-First Sitting of the Youth and Sports Committee
The Youth and Sports Committee held its twenty-first sitting on 10 November 2010. The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milan Vuckovic, and attended by the members of the Republic of Serbia national karate team: Dejan Umicevic (captain), Milos Zivkovic, Milos Jovanovic, Nikola Jovanovic, Milos Vukovic, Goran Scepanovic (selector), as well as representatives of the Serbian Karate Federation and Head of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sport Dragan Atanasov.

The Chairman and Committee members commended and congratulated the men’s senior karate national team on the medals and sporting success.
The Committee went on to decide to organise a public hearing on entrepreneurial learning dedicated to the youth. The public hearing will take place at the National Assembly House on 30 November 2010.
Following the completion of the sitting, the Youth and Sports Committee members showed the guests around the National Assembly House and organised a cocktail and press conference at the Central Hall dedicated to the karate national team’s golden success.
National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic welcomed the karate team emphasising her pleasure at being able to share their joy at the best achievement in Serbian karate history.
At the press conference, Youth and Sports Committee Chairman Milan Vuckovic stressed that karate, even though not an Olympic sport, deserved a much better status. Strahinja Tepacevic thanked everybody on the behalf of the karate team. He stressed that he is especially proud of the fact that karate creates healthy personalities. “Education and sport are the pillars of social progress”, concluded Tepacevic.
