Twenty-First Sitting of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija

At the sitting, held on 25 October, the members of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija were briefed on the telecommunications situation in AP Kosovo-Metohija.



At the sitting, held on 25 October, the members of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija were briefed on the telecommunications situation in AP Kosovo-Metohija. The report on the current situation and problems caused by the cutting of telecommunication connections and destruction of base stations in Kosovo-Metohija was presented by Assistant Minister on Kosovo-Metohija Kruna Petkovic.

The Committee members requested a report from the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society suggesting concrete measures to establish a telecommunications network in the Province. They requested an activity report for the current year from the Ministry on Kosovo-Metohija, and information on the political and security situation in Kosovo, power supply situation in the Province and allocation of state budget funds for Kosovo from the competent ministries.

From the Ministry on Kosovo-Metohija, the Committee members requested information on the drafting stage of the law on the so-called “Kosovo supplement”, revoked after the Serbian Constitutional Court decision, as well as information on how many Kosovo Serbs work in Kosovo institutions. They again asked for the list of politicians whose mobile phone bills had been paid by the Ministry.

The Committee also requested a review of the privatisation of state-owned property in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as information on the realisation of the plan of return of Serbs to Kosovo.

The Committee requested that the Government of the Republic of Serbia duly state their position on the upcoming elections organised by the Pristina authorities.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Ljubomir Kragovic.
