MP Aleksandra Djurovic, Head of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), chaired the morning part of the PACE session.
The debate was attended by more than 30 parliament members from all the parliamentary groups. The amendments were adopted unanimously, and the Draft Resolution by majority vote. The Resolution calls for the protection of women and girls from sexual and other violence, forced prostitution, sexual abuse, etc. The Resolution asks the member states to ensure safe accommodation and housing conditions for refugee women and girls, mechanisms of protection against violence and the ability to seek assistance in cases of violence.
Chairing the Assembly is one of the duties of PACE Vice-Presidents assumed by Aleksandra Djurovic during her term of office in 2017 and 2018.
