Seventh Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2021

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic convened the Seventh Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2021, for Tuesday, 13 April 2021, starting at 11 am.

Before adopting the agenda, the heads i.e. authorised representatives of the parliamentary groups, MPs Samir Tandir, Rozalia Okresz and Djordje Milicevic, requested information and explanations in line with article 287 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.

The National Assembly proceeded to adopt the following agenda:

  1. Proposal of the Decision on the termination of office of Public Prosecutor in the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Smederevo, submitted by the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government;
  2. Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time, submitted by the High Judicial Council;
  3. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Establishment of the Composition of the Standing Delegations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to International Parliamentary Institutions, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker;
  4. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Establishment of the Composition of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker, and
  5. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the “Aleksandar Vucic – For Our Children” Parliamentary Group.
The National Assembly accepted the proposal of MP Dr Aleksandar Martinovic to complete a joint single debate on items 1 and 2 and a joint single debate on items 3 to 5 on the agenda.

The National Assembly proceeded to commence a joint single debate on items 1 and 2 on the agenda.

The decision proposals were presented by High Judicial Council member Aleksandar Pantic as representative of the submitter.

By the end of the day the National Assembly completed the joint single debate on items 1 and 2 on the agenda.

On the second day of the proceedings, 14 April, the National Assembly conducted and concluded the single debate on items 3 to 5 on the agenda.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on the all the items on the agenda, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic set Wednesday, 14 April 2021, as Voting Day on all the items on the agenda of the Seventh Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2021, starting at 5 pm.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 14 April 2021, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the termination of office of Public Prosecutor in the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Smederevo, submitted by the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government.

The National Assembly also adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, with no disputed candidates: Jelena Kosovic, Munir Jusovic, Aladin Madzovic and Mirjana Lukic.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic congratulated the newly-elected judges on behalf of the MPs and himself and wished them success.

The National Assembly went on to adopt the Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Establishment of the Composition of the Standing Delegations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to International Parliamentary Institutions, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker, Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Establishment of the Composition of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker, and the Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the “Aleksandar Vucic – For Our Children” Parliamentary Group.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic concluded the Seventh Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2021.
