16th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee
At the sitting which began on 1 July and was continued on 2 July 2025, the Culture and Information Committee considered the objections submitted to the List of Candidates and the List of Organisations for the election of a member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.
The Committee also considered and received proposals of candidates for members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media concerning the opinions of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications of 8 June 2025 and 27 June 2025, opinion of the Ministry of Family Care and Demography of 18 June 2025 and the opinion of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of 18 June 2025.
The Committee sitting, which was open to the public, was attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic.
The University of Arts in Belgrade, Network of Organisations for Children of Serbia, MNRO Association Serbia, NUNS, Civic Initiatives Association and the Association for Digital and Electronic Media submitted objections to the list of candidates and organisations.
The discussion time was not limited. The sitting was adjourned and the discussion was scheduled to resume on Wednesday, 2 July, at noon.
In the continuation of the sitting, on 2 July, the members of the Culture and Information Committee considered the objections submitted by associations of film, stage and drama artists and composers' associations in the Republic of Serbia. The also commenced the consideration of objections submitted by associations whose goals are the protection of children.
The continuation of the 16th sitting of the Committee was attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic.
The sitting was adjourned, and Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric announced that the Committee members and the public would be informed about the date of its resumption in due course.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric, and in addition to Committee members and deputy members, the sitting was also attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, international partners, and complainants.
