Security Services Control Committee Visits Security Information Agency

On 14 December 2022, the members and deputy members of the Security Services Control Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia visited the Security Information Agency.


The Committee members were received by the Director of the Security Services Control Committee Aleksandar Vulin who highlighted the importance of the Parliament’s vital control role, and especially the role of the Security Services Control Committee, in the supervision and control of the work of the security services.

Committee Chairman Igor Becic congratulated Aleksandar Vulin on his new position, expressing an expectation that Mr Vulin would perform this duty like the previous ones, responsibly and successfully for the benefit of all the citizens of our country, and that cooperation with the Security Services Control Committee would be as productive as in the previous period.

In view of the delicate security situation the Republic of Serbia currently finds itself in, at Becic's request, Vulin informed the Committee delegation in detail about the current security situation and the challenges faced by the Serbian population in Kosovo-Metohija.

In the course of the visit to the Security Information Agency, the members of the Security Services Control Committee toured the premises and spoke with Security Information Agency members. They were briefed on the Security Information Agency’s organisation and work, as well as the confidential data collection measures implemented in accordance with the Law on the Security Information Agency and the implementation of special evidentiary actions in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code. The Committee delegation had the opportunity to ask questions to which they received adequate answers.

In addition to Committee Chairman Igor Becic, the following Committee members and deputy members also took part in the visit: Aleksandar Markovic, Jasmina Obradovic, Darko Jovanovic, Ugljesa Markovic, Nenad Tomasevic, Vladimir Gajic and Nikola Dragicevic.

In the coming period, the Committee will visit the Military Intelligence Agency and the Military Security Agency to familiarise itself with the organisation, competences and mode of operation of the military security services.
