The Speakers of the Parliaments of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, Oliver Dulic and Igor Radojcic, affirmed today, at a meeting at the National Assembly, the text of the Protocol on Interparliamentary Cooperation stressing that the problems in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina should be resolved “in the spirit of democratic and pro-European manner of thinking”.

Speaker Dulic stated that the goal of this document is to foster good cooperation of not only these two parliaments, but to also encourage a greater deal of cooperation of Bosnia and Herzegovina parliamentarians with the Serbian Parliament. The goal of such cooperation is the establishment of a serious and strong network of parliamentarians in the whole West Balkan region, “so that when it becomes a member of the European Union some day, it is not a region of small disputing countries, but an economically and politically fully rounded region”.

The two Speakers talked about the current political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska and agreed in their estimate that Belgrade can help within the framework set by the Dayton Agreement and the Agreement on Special and Parallel Relations between RS and Serbia.
