Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja High-School Students Receive Scholarships
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Slavica Djukic Dejanovic and the President of the Serbian Government’s Coordination Body for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja Milan Markovic presented a number of high-school students from these municipalities with scholarships and wished them success.
The National Assembly Speaker advised the students to carry the characteristics of the area they were born in, to incorporate them into Serbia’s riches and spread the spirit of variety. Dialogue and compromise are the key to everyone’s success, said Djukic Dejanovic hoping the youth from the south of Serbia would understand both these words and cultivate the spirit of tolerance.
The scholarships were awarded to 233 high-school students from Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja which is 27 more than last year. Students without one or both parents had priority, while social position and the previous year’s academic achievement were among the criteria for the scholarship. This year’s generation of students is the third to receive scholarships from the Serbian Government.
