The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Albania, Dragomir J. Karic emphasised the importance of the establishment of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Albania at the National Assembly, expecting the parliamentary cooperation to contribute to the affirmation of friendly relations between the two nations. Karic added that fostering economic cooperation is also important for Serbia and Albania, which should be facilitated by reciprocal visits of the two countries’ economic delegations.
Ambassador Çaushi mentioned the need to maintain dialogue both at the level of friendship groups and at the bilateral level, at the same time highlighting the importance of the economic exchange between Serbia and Albania. He believes that the Albanian Parliament would soon set up a Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia and announced an exchange of visits of top state dignitaries.
The participants of the meeting were greeted by National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic who, speaking with Ambassador Çaushi, said that the establishment of and communication between parliamentary friendship groups are the first step toward improving both parliamentary and bilateral relations between the two countries. Stefanovic also underlined the important role Serbia and Albania play in establishing stability in the region.
