Ninth Sitting of the Health and Family Committee
At the sitting held on 24 July, the members of the Health and Family Committee reviewed the Ministry of Health activity information for the period January-March 2016, April-June 2016, July-September 2016 and October-December 2016.
The activity information as presented by Dr Meho Mahmutovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health. He said that there had been some significant improvements in the field of healthcare in the previous period mentioning patient reception and accommodation and procurement of new medical equipment as the chief ones. He informed the Committee members about the employment of new medical staff and the number of doctors sent to complete specialization and co-specialization.
Mahmutovic said that in 2016 Serbia had improved its rating on the health consumer index ranking 35 European countries.
In the course of the debate the Committee members received additional information on the Ministry’s work in the previous year. They were especially interested in the work of the Integrated Health Information System (IZIS).
The Committee accepted the Ministry of Health activity information for the period January-March 2016, April-June 2016, July-September 2016 and October-December 2016.
The Committee then proceeded to review the civic proposals it had received. At the proposal of the Working Group for the processing ofpetitions submitted by citizens and organisations, presented by Working Group member Dr Dragana Barisic, the Committee members ascertained how to handle the petitions further.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Sci. med Darko Laketic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Muamer Bacevac, Milovan Krivokapic, Dr Svetlana Nikolic Pavlovic, Aleksandra Maletic, Dr Danica Bukvic, Dr Dragana Barisic, Desanka Repac, Olivera Ognjanovic, Dr Dragan Vesovic, Prof. Dr Milan Knezevic, Danijela Stojadinovic and Branka Stamenkovic.
