Ninth Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee

At the sitting held on 8 November, the members of the Environmental Protection Committee discussed the preparations for the public hearing on: “The impact of genetically modified organisms (transgenics) on the environment and health”, to be held on Tuesday, 13 November 2012, at the National Assembly House, in the Small Hall, starting at 11 am.


Committee Chairperson Milica Vojic Markovic informed the Committee members that the programme for the public hearing had been established and, considering the large number of participants expected to take part, all the organisational aspects of the gathering had been debated in detail. Vojic Markovic said that representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications have been invited to the public hearing. She added that members of relevant National Assembly committees, representatives of the business sector, non-governmental sector and representatives of some embassies are also expected to take part.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Milica Vojic Markovic.
